At the GRAPPA 2024 Annual Meeting, a debate discussed whether dermatologists or rheumatologists should be in charge of managing musculoskeletal (MSK) symptoms in patients with psoriasis. The rheumatologist argued that they should be in the driver’s seat due to the potential link to psoriatic arthritis (PsA) and the need for accurate imaging in diagnosis. The dermatologist emphasized the importance of early intervention and prevention of PsA, as well as the role of skin biomarkers in predicting PsA development. They proposed a collaborative approach between dermatologists and rheumatologists, working together to provide comprehensive care to patients.
