Take a stand for your colleagues

Doctors can put themselves forward to represent their colleagues, as BMA committee elections get under way.

Nominations for candidates to a range of the association’s committees is now getting going, with members able to nominate and vote using the BMA’s online system.

Committees with posts to be contested include the civil and public services committee, the committee of medical managers, professional fees committee and private practice committee.

Online voting, which was introduced to BMA elections last year, is designed to be simpler and quicker to use than previous paper-based voting system.

The application process for nominees is set to close at midday, 9 August.

Seats are also open for regional representatives to the public health medicine and public health medicine registrars committees. The deadline for nominations is 12pm, 27 July.
