Spotlight on Dr. Michael Reardon
Dr. Michael Reardon is one of Child Neurology Consultant’s experts on concussions. He is frequently featured in the media with his take on how to prevent and treat pediatric concussions, especially in relation to youth sports, and often works with local fire stations and school districts to provide concussion health education.
Dr. Reardon is a graduate of the University of Oklahoma and the University of Colorado Health Sciences Center where he earned his medical degree. He fulfilled his residency in neurology at the University of Iowa, serving as neurology chief resident, and then completing his pediatric residency there as well as his fellowship training in child neurology.
Prior to coming to Austin, Dr. Reardon worked as a child neurologist at Driscoll Children’s Hospital in Corpus Christi.
Before joining Child Neurology Consultants of Austin, Dr. Reardon practiced most recently with Pediatric Specialty Services at Dell Children’s Medical Center of Texas, acting as director of Dell Children’s Medical Center Concussion Clinic. He also served as co-director of the Pediatric Muscular Dystrophy Association Clinic.
Dr. Reardon is a current faculty member for the child neurology residency program at Dell Medical School at The University of Texas at Austin.
In his spare time, Dr. Reardon enjoys spending time with his family hiking and competing in outdoor sports. He also plays a mean Blues harmonica and writes his own music.
Earlier this week, Dr. Reardon was the featured guest speaker at Team Luke Hope for Minds’ Concussion Support Group for concussion survivors and their caregivers.
