New Tulsa MDA Care Center

Today is an exciting day for eastern Oklahoma! It’s the first day of the new Tulsa MDA Care Center! We have needed a resource like this in our community for so long, and I’m so happy to see it is finally here.

The Tulsa MDA Care Center is a twice monthly clinic day for individuals with ALS and other neuromuscular diseases to be evaluated by multiple disciplines all in one place! MDA Tulsa branch, neurologists Dr. Edgar and Dr. Dunaway, and several other local private clinics have come together to screen and evaluate the patients in need of our services and collaborate in their care without making it necessary for them to travel to multiple specialists, which can be very physically taxing. In between MDA clinic days, several of us are holding home visits and follow up sessions as needed to help these individual as much as possible.

SNR and our friends at Digital Diagnostic Solutions (their owner Amy is pictured with me below) are so excited to be a part of this awesome new resource in Tulsa!

The Tulsa MDA chapter is also holding an event on April 8, “Step up to the Plate for ALS”. They are currently looking for donations for items for their silent auction (e.g., gift baskets, unique items, gift cards to local shops, restaurants, or attractions, etc.). Contact the MDA office at 918-749-7997 to purchase tickets to the dinner or to make donations. This will be a fun night to celebrate the new Tulsa MDA team and raise funds to assist in the care of patients with ALS within the community.
