MDA – “Step Up to the Plate for ALS”

This was my second year to attend the Muscular Dystrophy Association’s ALS Fundraiser, “Step Up to the Plate for ALS.” This is such a fun event each year for a great cause!
The MDA’s fundraisers help fund our monthly ALS Care Center, support groups, loaner banks with equipment and medical supplies, and much, much more! Since being involved with the MDA’s ALS Care Center when it was launched in Tulsa last March of 2016, I’ve had the pleasure of meeting some of the greatest people, and I can tell you firsthand how much this organization is so helpful to so many.
The lead neurologist and medical director Dr. Eric Edgar, neurologist Dr. Todd Dunaway, and several of our other care center team members were at this year’s fundraiser, and we had a great night with our patients. Jenks football coach Allan Trimble (who was recently diagnosed with ALS) was this year’s guest speaker at the event. He gave a very honest and inspirational testimony about his journey with the disease.
If you would like to become involved with the MDA either as a patient, sponsor/donor, or a volunteer at upcoming events, you can reach out to the MDA Tulsa chapter at 918-749-7997 and speak to the executive director Becky Prine.
