Endoscopy Suite in the Works

Big news at SNR! A new state-of-the-art endoscopy suite is in the works at our clinic! We have purchased both rigid and flexible endoscopy equipment to perform both videostroboscopy voice evals and fiberoptic endoscopic evaluation of swallowing (FEES) procedures. The target date for beginning these services is mid to late October. This equipment will be an amazing addition to our services and will help so many of our patients. We get a lot of challenging voice patients (vocal trauma, etc.), and being able to view the vocal folds in slow motion with stroboscopy will be invaluable since there is currently no good local resource for these assessments for our patients. Several local ENTs we work closely with have inquired about this service, and we are so happy to now be able to provide it soon so that our patients will no longer have to travel (often out of state) to receive high quality instrumental voice assessments. The FEES procedure will allow us to complete pharyngeal swallowing evaluations for our patients, both at initiation of treatment to determine which muscles to target in therapy and periodically throughout treatment to measure progress objectively.
