New research from the Center for Health Services Studies at the University of Kent shows that cyberbullying among school-aged children in England has increased, with 1 in 5 adolescents reporting being victims. The Health Behavior of School Age Children Survey (HBSC) for England, led by the World Health Organization, found that 21% of 11, 13, and 15-year-olds were victims of cyberbullying, a 3% rise since 2018. England has the highest reported levels of cyberbullying, particularly among 11-year-old girls. The study highlights the urgent need for interventions to promote digital literacy and safety, emphasizing the importance of safe school environments.
