NHS leaders in England have urged the government to “rapidly create a national staff redundancy fund” after integrated care boards (ICBs) and NHS trusts were told to halve their costs.
ICBs have been told they must cut their running costs by 50% from October this year and must submit their plans for government approval by the end of May, while trusts have been told to cut their “corporate cost growth” in half.
