The study found that factors such as advanced age, the use of home-help services, and certain diagnoses like Parkinson’s disease and dementia were strong predictors of hip fractures. The model also established a risk threshold for initiating bone-strengthening medication to prevent fractures. This research may lead to new guidelines for managing hip fracture risks in older individuals.
