As Ireland’s premier medical awards, the Irish Healthcare Awards have long celebrated excellence across patient care, medical research, public health, and healthcare management

The Irish Healthcare Awards in 2025 are poised to be the most significant in their 24-year history, reflecting the dynamic evolution of Ireland’s healthcare sector. The Awards, which will take place on Tuesday, November 4, 2025, at the Clayton Hotel on the Burlington Road in Dublin, promises an expanded scope of entries, including 22 diverse categories to reflect the increasing innovation in Irish healthcare.

As Ireland’s premier medical awards, the Irish Healthcare Awards have long celebrated excellence across patient care, medical research, public health, and healthcare management. The 2025 edition is set to surpass previous iterations, with over 600 attendees anticipated, more than 70 organizations shortlisted, and a panel of 30 judges evaluating entries.

On the same day of this year’s event Irish Medical Times and MIMS Ireland will also present the inaugural Patient Solutions conference. Taking place during the day, this conference will provide a platform for healthcare professionals to engage in learning, presenting, debating and networking.

Patient Solutions will embrace and promote new ideas, products and innovations that directly lead to better patient outcomes.

Reflecting the rapid advancements in healthcare, the 2025 awards have introduced new categories to acknowledge emerging areas of excellence. Notably, the ‘Medical Team of the Year’ category has been added to honour medical teams demonstrating exceptional dedication, leadership, and innovation in their fields.

While there is a growing emphasis on digital transformation and the use of digital methods to reduce labour-intensive work in administration and in clinical work, up until now there has been no specific award to recognise Artificial Intelligence being used to improve patient care.

The integration of AI into Ireland’s healthcare system is gaining momentum. For instance, the Mater Misericordiae University Hospital in Dublin has implemented AI to enhance radiology services, leading to faster diagnoses and improved patient care. Developments like this underscore the increasing importance of AI and digital technologies in delivering efficient and effective healthcare services in Ireland.

Therefore, in addition to our regular categories for ‘Best use of Digital and IT’ and ‘Medical Device, Technology or Service of the Year’ this year we will offer an award in 2025 for the ‘Best use of AI in healthcare’. This will be an award specifically for AI-led innovations, reflecting the huge role AI is expected to play in medicine over the coming years.

Entry Details and Participation
Healthcare professionals and organizations are encouraged to participate in the awards by submitting their entries before the deadline on Friday, June 13, 2025. This is an opportunity for you or your organisation to gain national recognition for contributions to healthcare excellence and innovation.
