FORT LAUDERDALE, Fla. — In this Healio Video Perspective from the Retina World Congress, Lejla Vajzovic, MD, FASRS, shares pearls on delivery of subretinal gene therapy to treat common and inherited retinal diseases.
Vajzovic overviewed tips and tricks that she finds helpful and highlighted intraoperative OCT as a tool for increased precision when injecting therapies.
“I think gene therapy as a field is definitely moving forward,” she said. “I am excited to have it as an option for current condition [inherited retinal diseases], but I mostly hope to have it as an approach for my patients with common retinal diseases.”
