In this expert perspective, Manjot K. Gill, MD, discusses faricimab for the management of retinal vein occlusion.

Gill, vice chair of clinical performance and ophthalmology professor at Northwestern Feinberg School of Medicine, said that patients with retinal vein occlusion who receive faricimab can potentially extend to longer treatment intervals with similar efficacy in reduction of retinal edema.

“I certainly have found it very helpful in the real world in my practice, particularly in patients that are refractory or recalcitrant to our current treatment modalities and have found enhanced efficacy with Vabysmo (Genentech) as well in those patients who are currently responsive to our current treatment regimens but are not able to be extended out,” Gill said.
