At the AAO meeting, Adam K. Muzychuk, MD, FRCSC discussed the defocus curve performance of the enVista Envy trifocal IOL and the enVista monofocal IOL from Bausch + Lomb. Results from a multicenter study showed that the trifocal IOL had a continuous range of approximately 4 D on the defocus curve, compared to 2 D for the monofocal lens. This means that patients with the trifocal IOL had significantly more range. Muzychuk reports receiving research support from and consulting and speaking for Bausch + Lomb.
