Blood volume monitoring-guided hemodialysis was found to decrease hospital stay by 2 days and lead to significantly fewer readmissions for patients with end-stage kidney disease and heart failure. A multicenter cohort study conducted from 2017 to 2020 with 278 hospitalized patients showed that those who received dialysis with blood volume monitoring had a shorter hospital length of stay and fewer readmissions compared to those without this monitoring. The study emphasized the importance of using technologies like the Crit-Line IV Monitor for patients with heart failure to improve outcomes. These findings were presented at ASN Kidney Week in San Diego.
