Former Health and Human Services secretary, Alex Azar, was instrumental in getting the FDA’s approval to import drugs from Canada to Florida in 2020. He is now the chairman of the board of a Dallas-based company, LifeScience Logistics, which Florida is paying to help manage the drug importation program. Critics are concerned about the potential conflict of interest due to the business relationship.
