Regular exercise is known to improve memory, but new research suggests that the benefits can last into the next day. A study published in the International Journal of Behavioral Nutrition and Physical Activity found that moderate to vigorous physical activity can enhance memory performance the following day. Limiting sitting time and getting at least six hours of sleep may also contribute to cognitive benefits. Exercise increases blood flow to the brain and releases chemicals that improve focus and memory. Studies have shown that the effects of exercise on memory can last up to 48 hours. More research is needed to confirm these findings.
