Policy Exchange think tank wants to abolish NHS England as an independent body and have its functions managed by an NHS management board within the Department of Health and Social Care. Ara Darzi’s report highlighted the critical condition of the NHS, partly due to disastrous reforms in 2012. This suggests that constant reorganization may be a contributing factor to the issues faced by the NHS. The blame for these problems cannot solely be placed on Andrew Lansley, but the structural reforms initiated by him may have played a role.
