Google has released MedLM, two models based on the Med-PaLM 2 for medical questions, unstructured data, and summaries. The large model handles complex tasks, while the medium model is flexible for various tasks. Augmedix uses MedLM to convert data into medical notes, and BenchSci for drug discovery. Google partnered with Accenture, Deloitte, and healthcare providers for enterprise adoption. MedLM is available to Google Cloud customers. It passed medical entrance exam-style questions and increased accuracy over time. Dr. Michael Howell noted the remarkable speed of improvement. Google plans to expand MedLM to more healthcare organizations and continue breakthrough research in health and life sciences.
