Dapsone gel 7.5% safe, effective for acne treatment in patients with skin of color

admin

The study investigated the use of dapsone gel 7.5% for treating acne vulgaris in patients with skin of color. By week 24, the number of lesions decreased by 53% from baseline, and adverse events were mild and unrelated to treatment. Efficacy results showed a decrease in the Global Acne Assessment Score, indicating the gel’s effectiveness. Overall, dapsone 7.5% was found to be safe, tolerable, and effective for moderate to severe acne in patients with skin of color. However, due to the small sample size, further trials are suggested to accurately represent the diverse population and ensure efficacy and safety.
