Waltz Health, a digital search engine for prescription pricing and reimbursement, is entering the Medicare market to help health plans support beneficiaries in accessing lower drug prices. They will provide health plans with an AI-enabled search engine called Marketplace Search to find lower-cost medications and track medication adherence trends. The first payer to use this application will be SCAN Health Plan. CEO Mark Thierer believes that supporting Medicare health plans aligns with the company’s goal of helping members save money on their medications. Waltz Health received $35.4 million in Series A funding and joins other companies like GoodRx, Amazon, and Transcarent in efforts to lower prescription drug prices for consumers.
