The Department of Health and Human Services is appointing new members to its Advisory Committee on Immunization Practices after criticism for not filling previous vacancies. They are increasing the committee’s size to 16 voting members, appointing Helen Keipp Bredenberg Talbot as chair, and selecting several other health professionals. There was concern that without the new appointees, the committee would not have enough members for a quorum at its February meeting. The committee recommends vaccine policy to the CDC, and several of the new members would have four year terms.
