John Humphrey Wilfred Shaw was a medical doctor who studied at St John’s College, Cambridge, and later joined St Bartholomew’s Hospital in London in 1953. He worked as a GP in Redhill for 34 years and was the managing partner from 1985. After retiring in 1997, he attended literature classes and did research, publishing several articles associated with the poem Luriana, Lurilee. Shaw passed away leaving behind a legacy of academic and professional achievements, as well as a family of three children and six grandchildren.
