The HSE has announced the appointment of Regional Executive Officers (REOs) who will lead the new health regions. The REOs will report directly to the HSE CEO and will be responsible for the delivery of services in their respective populations. This is part of the delivery of Sláintecare and the REOs will provide regional input into the development of national policies and standards. Five of the new appointments were announced, with start dates beginning on March 1. The new REOs come from a variety of backgrounds and have experience in managing health systems in various countries.
