3 (Nonsurgical) Ways to Achieve Your Best Summer Body

During this time of year, people often start to look forward to—or worry about—swimsuit season. With summer on the horizon, now is the best time to begin your summer body transformation. Two of the most important things you can do for your body are to eat clean and stay active.

However, diet and exercise aren’t always enough to get your body looking the way you want, and that’s where we come in. Nonsurgical treatments like CoolSculpting® often help our Saratoga and Albany patients look and feel their best—especially right before summer.

Let’s look at few nonsurgical ways you can prepare your body before summer officially begins:

CoolSculpting

CoolSculpting® can help smooth out your bumps and bulges using a method of freezing fat called Cryolipolysis®. This controlled cooling process targets fat cells in the treatment area. Because fat cells freeze at a higher temperature than other cells, the surrounding nonfat tissues are left unharmed.

After treatment, the body naturally eliminates the frozen fat cells. Elimination is a gradual process, and you will begin to see results in about 3 weeks after your treatment. CoolSculpting can treat the following areas:

  • Abdomen
  • Flanks
  • Back
  • Inner and outer thighs
  • Hips
  • Arms

Often patients prefer CoolSculpting over its surgical alternatives because there is little risk of complications. The procedure also requires no downtime, permanently removes fat, and provides noticeable results. The only side effects include slight redness and minor bruising that generally resolve quickly.

Laser Hair Removal

Men and women often want to remove unwanted hair before summer, and many of our patients prefer laser hair removal because it’s a convenient and long-lasting solution. The LightSheer® DUET™ laser precisely vaporizes the hair follicles quickly and comfortably. This advanced laser deactivates multiple follicles at once, stopping or significantly slowing down the hair’s regrowth.

Laser hair removal generally requires no recovery time. Common side effects may include mild redness and swelling in the treated area, but these usually subside after a few days.

Sometimes when patients come in for a hair removal session, they also choose to undergo another nonsurgical treatment while they are here. Chemical peels or microdermabrasion are often scheduled with a laser hair removal appointment, so patients leave feeling satisfied with their overall improvements.

Organic Spray Tan

An organic spray tan at our spa can help you maintain a healthy-looking, summer glow without needing excessive sun exposure, which can be harmful to your skin. Our products are non-toxic, vegan, free of common allergens, and made using only FDA-approved ingredients, so they are a safe alternative to baking in the sun. A spray tan can also conceal cellulite and other skin imperfections, so you’ll feel confident when you head to the beach or pool.

After a spray tan, we recommend that you do not shower until the following day. To prolong your results, it’s a good idea to avoid hot showers and exfoliating scrubs. Additionally, after bathing you should pat dry your skin instead of rubbing it.

Nonsurgical treatments like these and others that we offer have quickly gained popularity, and for good reason: they require little to no downtime and provide beautiful results. Lastly, always remember that prevention is the most important part of summer skincare. Make sure to reapply sunscreen during the day and use lotion at night to maintain moisture in your skin.
