Vaccination rates are probably over-estimated

The president of the IMO emphasized that general practice must be proactive in administering vaccines to the public to prevent fragmentation. Dr. McCauley expressed concerns about the increasing workload and potential vaccine deficiencies due to complacency. With responsibility for vaccine delivery shared among multiple providers, including pharmacies, there is a need for general practice to remain vigilant. Challenges in accurately reporting vaccine uptake rates were also highlighted, with flaws in recording and delays in data processing contributing to inaccuracies. Dr. Kelly pointed out the lack of a national immunization system as a major obstacle in providing accurate statistics on vaccine uptake.
