FDA Grants Its First-Ever Clearance for Sepsis Detection AI

Chicago-based company Prenosis recently received FDA clearance for its AI-based sepsis detection technology, making it the first of its kind to be approved by the agency. The technology, called ImmunoScore, uses 22 different parameters to assess a hospital patient’s risk of sepsis within 24 hours. Prenosis aims to bring precision medicine to acute care by treating patients based on their individual biology rather than general protocols. Sepsis is a serious condition that is difficult to diagnose early, leading to millions of deaths each year. Prenosis’ dedication to responsible AI deployment and trust-building set it apart from other companies in the field.
