Elevance, private equity launch primary care company

Elevance has partnered with private equity firm Clayton, Dubilier & Rice to launch a $4 billion primary care company focused on managing patients’ chronic medical conditions. This strategic partnership will combine Elevance’s expertise with CD&R’s resources to create a new company that will include doctors, clinics, and technology to help manage patient care. Health insurers are increasingly turning to healthcare provider partnerships like this to apply their cost management skills to keeping patients healthy, particularly in payment models like Medicare Advantage where insurers are incentivized to focus on preventive care.
