How to Get Enough Sleep

Research has found that many people with AD have trouble sleeping due to itching. Poor sleep due to AD can impact mental function, emotional well-being, and quality of life. The relationship between stress, sleep, and AD is connected. Suggestions to improve sleep include using a humidifier, staying cool, and comfortable, easing the itch with moisturizers and ice packs, controlling scratching, and practicing good sleep hygiene. If sleep continues to be a problem, see a dermatologist who may suggest medications or light therapy. In severe cases, a medication called Dupixent may be recommended, since it has been effective in quieting the itch.
