December top picks: festive season at The BMJ

Éabha Lynn, a BMJ editorial scholar, shares her excitement about working at The BMJ during Christmas time. As a first generation medical student, she didn’t have copies of The BMJ Christmas issue growing up, but she’s now enjoying the offbeat and zany research and comment in the publication. This year’s Christmas BMJ features investigations into Doctor Who and Doctor Barbie. The TARDIS study found that the Doctor Who character is associated with lower population mortality rates during the festive season. Doctor Barbie and her colleagues in science were also analyzed in the issue. Lynn finds it all really cool and exciting to be a part of.
