Stem Cell Post Doc Position on Wnt in Heart Development (5 years)

We are seeking to appoint a highly motivated Research Fellow to work in the research group of Professor Stefan Hoppler on investigating Wnt Signalling in Heart Muscle Development. You will be part of the newly established Aberdeen Cardiovascular & Diabetes Centre in the Institute of Medical Sciences.


You must hold a PhD and have expertise with stem cell culture and experimentation as well as advanced molecular biology methods. Expertise in Wnt signalling, heart development or high-throughput sequencing approaches would also be beneficial.


This post is funded by the British Heart Foundationand is available for 5 years until 31 July 2023. This appointment will be made subject to the usual terms and conditions of employment of the University.


Salary will be at the appropriate point on the Grade 6 scale (£33,199 – £35,210 per annum),with placement according to qualifications and experience.Consideration will be given to making an appointment at Research Assistant, Grade 5 level in the first instance (£27,831 – £31,303 per annum) for individuals in the final stages of completing their PhD.
