Author response: Education Research: Difficult conversations in neurology: Lessons learned from medical students

We thank Dr. Lukas for the insightful comments on our article.1 We agree that further investigation to characterize student experiences across the range of medical specialties is important. The types of difficult conversations encountered in various specialties likely differ and offer complementary opportunities to focus on specific aspects of communication skills training, in a similar way to longitudinal instruction in the physical examination.2
