Millennials more likely to flaunt plastic surgery operations

A group of surgeons in the U.S. observed that Generation Y members, or millennials, are likely to post on social media regarding cosmetic surgery.

In 2015 data from the American Society of Aesthetic Plastic Surgery (ASAPS), almost 13 million recorded procedures happened last year. The group of cosmetic surgeons noted millennials accounted for about 18 percent of last year’s overall procedures. Millennials in this case are those whose ages range between 18 and 34 years old. ASAPS President Dr. Daniel Mills noted millennials have less shame about undergoing cosmetic surgery procedures. In fact, they often flaunt their work by posting pictures or discussing it on social media platforms. Surgeons also noted a significant increase in lip filler procedure last year after Kylie Jenner admitted to going through it. There were over 2 million lip filler procedures performed last year to achieve lips like Jenner’s.
