Shining a Light on Radiation-Associated Angiosarcoma

An analysis of data from the Netherlands Cancer Registry is casting a much-needed spotlight on radiation-associated angiosarcoma (RAAS) after primary breast cancer, a rare complication of radiation therapy. 

“Radiation-associated sarcoma of the breast or chest wall is a rare, but serious complication following radiation therapy in breast cancer,” reported lead author Anouk Rombouts, a PhD candidate in the Department of Surgery at Radboud University Medical Center, in Nijmegen, Netherlands.
